Bridging Dev and Ops in the AI Era

We are a team of DevTools veterans and open source contributors building the automation engine for the next era of software development.

Our Vision

For decades, software organizations were built around one constraint: people wrote the code.

That shaped everything around them: ticket queues, review gates, CI pipelines, release trains, approval chains, and on-call runbooks. These systems were not accidents. They were the machinery required to ship software safely when engineering capacity was scarce and change moved at human speed.

That constraint is changing.

AI agents can now generate, modify, test, and explain code faster than most organizations can review, validate, deploy, observe, and operate it. The bottleneck is no longer just writing software. It is everything that happens after the code exists.

SuperPlane exists to make that system programmable.

We are not replacing the tools engineering teams already trust, hiding production behind a chat box, or pretending agents should operate without guardrails.

We are building an open control plane where humans and agents run engineering operations together. The policies, approvals, deployment patterns, risk checks, incident procedures, and feedback loops of a team become explicit workflows. They become visible, versioned, auditable, and can be improved over time.

This is the next layer of platform engineering: a runtime for how software organizations work.

A pull request can trigger an environment, tests, review, risk scoring, approvals, deployment, production checks, rollback paths, and feedback to the people and agents working on the next change. A failed deployment does not disappear into Slack threads and dashboard archaeology. The workflow knows where it stopped, what ran, what failed, and what should happen next.

While automation just runs a script, true autonomy requires context, memory, policy, and a clear boundary between what agents can do and where humans must decide.

Every software team should be able to operate with the leverage of a dedicated platform organization. Small teams can encode their way of shipping once and compound that knowledge, while large organizations can let agents move quickly without losing control or engineering standards. Open source communities can share operational patterns the way developers already share libraries.

AI makes it cheaper to create code. SuperPlane makes engineering organizations capable of safely absorbing that velocity.

SuperPlane is built for that future: a world where intent becomes workflow, workflow becomes execution, and every execution makes the organization better at shipping the next change.

The Team

Darko Fabijan (CEO) and Marko Anastasov (CPO) first met at university in 2003. Since then, they have been building side by side, turning hard engineering problems into products that teams depend on every day.

SuperPlane is the continuation of more than two decades of shared conviction, technical judgment, and firsthand experience operating at scale.

Before SuperPlane, they built and scaled Semaphore, one of the early pioneers in continuous integration and testing. Semaphore helped drive the adoption of container-based infrastructure and grew into a platform processing millions of jobs for engineering organizations such as Intuit, Toyota Connected, Confluent, Replit, and Superhuman.

That experience shaped their view of what modern infrastructure requires. They have seen what happens when systems grow, when workflows become critical, and when engineering teams need both speed and safety at the same time.

SuperPlane is built from that experience. It carries forward the same focus on reliability, control, and operational depth, now applied to a new era where AI agents and human engineers work together to manage the complexity of production at scale.
